If you have booked your mail or web space package with INWX, you have the option to activate the so-called "greylisting" procedure as spam protection. The greylisting process is an effective way to protect your mailbox from unwanted emails.
When using the greylisting procedure, incoming e-mails are first rejected once by our e-mail server with a temporary error message. "Normal" email servers - which are not used for explicitly sending spam - react to this temporary error message with further - delayed - delivery attempts.
As soon as the e-mail is delivered a second time, our server accepts this e-mail and delivers it to your mailbox. Therefore, when using greylisting, the first time an e-mail combination (recipient / sender) is received, there may be a delivery delay. This delay depends on the configuration of the sending e-mail server and is usually 10 to 20 minutes.
In case of further deliveries to this e-mail address combination of recipient and sender, the delivery will be carried out immediately.
You can use greylisting on all of our servers.
To do so, log in to www.inwx.com with your known user data and navigate to the Hosting menu item on the left.
Now select the link Manage so that you will be redirected to the Froxlor administration interface.
If you want to set up greylisting for existing email addresses, click on the Menu Item Email Addresses in the Froxlor administration interface. You will now see an overview of the e-mail addresses you have already created and that are active. Select the e-mail address for which you want to activate greylisting from the list and click on the green pen icon to edit the e-mail address.
On the following page you can now enable greylisting for this email address. Greylisting will now be activated for your domain and will be ready in a few minutes so that your incoming emails will be filtered accordingly.
