As part of the ICANN Registrar Accreditation Agreement 2013 an e-mail verification of the domain owners became necessary for all already registered generic TLDs and sponsored TLDs. That involves all new TLDs, as: .COM, .NET, .ORG, .INFO, .BIZ, .NAME, .TEL, .MOBI, .ASIA, .PRO. .AREO,. JOBS, .TRAVEL, .XXX
This guideline is set by the registry, exists for all registrars and it is not possible to circumvent this.
